Why Accept Jesus Christ?

Human beings all over the world have a strong desire to worship...and billions have chosen Jesus.  Why?  Well, this writing is an attempt to give you many reasons why (and arguments against some very wrong, and very common, beliefs taught these days.)  Here in America, it's often worship of material things and activities — and many also worship humans and their achievements.  Especially rich, beautiful and/or successful humans like models, politicians, actors, CEO's, news commentators, rock stars, those who play professional sports and pretty much anyone wealthy or considered a celebrity (and oh, never mind about their actual moral values, beliefs or actions.)

Most of the famous people shown at right have achieved positions of power and super stardom.   Yet most of them have had, or have, serious problems...emotional, mental, drug, domestic violence, sexual and/or problems with honesty...and this is very common with the 'rich and famous.'  So why on earth would we worship them?

Some in America — and in other countries — worship nature i.e. 'Mother Earth' or 'Gaia' or perhaps they worship the sun, the stars or aliens.  Or they might worship themselves, traditions, a religious leader or denomination, ancestors, statues, white cows, red cows, sacred places, sacred rocks, sacred ancestor cow statues...whatever.

There IS a spirit that controls this planet but it ain't Gaia or Mother Earth — or any spirits that are supposedly called up from the dead and 'channeled' through psychic mediums — it's the Holy Spirit of God and He reaches out to YOU every day.  There are answers to be found to all your questions about life but they aren't found in a daily horoscope, getting tarot cards read or by seeing a psychic.

Yes, you will get 'answers' through these activities...but for most who have tried them, the answers are often vague, shallow, illogical, unsatisfying and/or not particularly accurate.  Worse, if a psychic IS tapping into the spiritual realm, WHO are you getting advice from?  Good spirits or bad spirits?  We don't disbelieve in the spirit world, not by a long shot.  We just don't mess with it because God says not to...AND we've seen some pretty creepy things over the years.

But it seems to be a built in need for humans...we want to know what's going to happen next and what we are here on earth for.  No less, this seems to be a universal need, crossing all religious, social, economic and cultural boundaries.  Yes, it's obvious that people all over the earth want, indeed need, to worship something — anything — but worship they must.  It's built into our human natures; wired deeply into our very DNA.

God did it.  He made us this way.  It's all His fault that we yearn to know Him.

"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.  From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. For in Him we live and move and have our being. We are His offspring."  (Acts 17:24-28)

We're all His offspring...but we are not all His beloved children nor are we all going to heaven (and you're not getting reincarnated either!)  The Bible is clear that we're all God’s creation (Colossians 1:16), and that He loves the entire world (John 3:16), but only those who are born again are children of God (John 1:12; 11:52; Romans 8:16; 1 John 3:1-10).  In Scripture, the unsaved are never referred to as children of God. If you know that you're NOT a child of God, and you want to be; if you ARE ready to accept Jesus into your heart, then just say these words, whether quietly inside yourself or boldly out loud, to Him right now:  "Lord Jesus, I've ignored and sometimes even mocked the idea of you throughout my life. I am sorry and I ask your forgiveness for this sin, and for all my sins. I believe you are the son of God and I believe you died on the cross to save my eternal soul.  Dear Jesus, come into my heart right now and be my Lord and Savior. Set my heart free, and then set it on fire with your love and a desire to serve you. I want to walk with you the rest of my time on earth and throughout all eternity.  Thank you for loving me, for forgiving me, and for shedding your blood for me. Thank you for the willing sacrifice you made of YOUR life in order to save MY life, to save my soul from hell, and to give me abundant life here on earth and forever in eternity.
